₹3 Lakh Per Kg: Japan’s Miyazaki Mangoes Grown in Bihar’s Nalanda, Only 4 Trees Exist

In the international market, the price of the rare and delicious Miyazaki variety of mango grown in a farmer’s orchard in Nalanda, Bihar, has soared from ₹2.50 lakh to ₹3 lakh per kilogram. The cultivation of this precious mango has been undertaken in two villages—Dhakhaniya under the Chandi block and Gilani under the Asthawan block of Nalanda. There are a total of four trees of this mango variety in Nalanda.
The owner of one tree is farmer Chaman Singh from Dhakhaniya village. On the other hand, the owner of the mango tree located in Gilani village is Saba Azam. Furthermore, the District Horticulture Department also possesses two trees of this variety. It is noteworthy that the name of this rare variety of mango is ‘Miyazaki Mango’.
According to farmer Chaman Singh of Dhakhaniya village, his father, Surendra Singh, had ordered and brought 6 saplings of this rare, precious mango tree from Japan. However, out of those 6 saplings, only one mango tree survived. This year, 21 mangoes have grown on this tree. The weight of a single mango ranges from 300 grams to 500 grams. Farmer Chaman Singh mentions that a single tree of this variety yields about 20 to 30 fruits.
