In a gritty display of batting, Litton Das single-handedly lifted Bangladesh to a respectable first-innings total of 278 runs in the second Test against Pakistan. The wicketkeeper-batter’s magnificent century, comprising 126 runs off 159 balls, was the highlight of Bangladesh’s innings, with the rest of the team struggling to cope with Pakistan’s bowling attack. Das’s innings included 16 boundaries and two sixes, as he anchored Bangladesh’s innings with a rock-solid performance. Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Khurram Shahzad (4 wickets) and Mohammad Abbas (3 wickets), did the damage, but Das’s heroics ensured Bangladesh avoided a disastrous start to the match. In reply, Pakistan made a cautious start, ending the first day on 21/0.
