NFR Hospital Joins National Drive to Boost Newborn Survival Rates
The Central Hospital of the Northeast Frontier Railway actively participated in the “National Newborn Resuscitation Program Day” on May 10, 2026. This participation reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening newborn healthcare and reducing preventable neonatal deaths.
As part of this program, 15 healthcare workers from the Central Hospital in Maligaon participated in a special training session. Dr. Emmanuel Trulove, Senior Divisional Medical Officer of the Pediatric Department at Maligaon Central Hospital, participated as a trainer. Dr. KMSK Krishnai, Senior Divisional Medical Officer of the Pediatric Department, served as the coordinator for the event.
This national-level program was organized under the leadership of the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) in collaboration with the Government of India, the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), and the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI).
The initiative emphasizes the “Golden Minute”—stressing that timely care and immediate assistance in resuscitation right after birth can significantly increase the chances of saving a newborn’s life.
