Cabinet Nods to Gujarat’s Semiconductor Push: 2 Units, ₹3,936 Crore Investment, 2,230 Jobs to be Created
In a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was granted for the establishment of two new semiconductor units in the country under the India Semiconductor Mission.
One of these will be the country’s first commercial Mini/Micro-LED display facility (based on Gallium Nitride technology). The second will be a Semiconductor Packaging unit. Both projects will be established in Gujarat.
The two projects, named Crystal Matrix Limited (CML) and Suchi Semicon Private Limited (SSPL), will involve an investment of approximately 3,936 crore rupees. It is expected that about 2,230 skilled candidates will find employment through these two projects.
