India Gets Off to Flying Start in Thomas and Uber Cup with Sindhu’s Win
India’s shuttlers got off to a flying start in the Thomas and Uber Cup, currently underway in Denmark. In the women’s section, PV Sindhu opened India’s campaign with a thrilling win, defeating Denmark’s Line Christophersen 21-13, 18-21, 21-17 in the women’s singles.
The Indian men’s team also had a fantastic start, beating Canada 4-1. The men’s doubles pairs of Satwiksairaj-Chirag Shetty and Hariharan-Arjun won their matches, while Kidambi Srikanth secured a win in the men’s singles. Lakshya Sen, however, lost to Victor Svendsen 21-18, 19-21, 10-21.
Sindhu’s victory sets the tone for India’s challenge in the tournament, and the team’s overall performance has been impressive so far. With strong performances from the doubles pairs and singles players, India looks poised to make a deep run in the Thomas and Uber Cup.
