India’s U-17 Dream Ends: Uzbekistan Crushes Blue Colts’ World Cup Hopes
The Indian team ended their AFC U-17 Asian Cup campaign with a miserable defeat against Uzbekistan. In a match held last night at the Jar Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan defeated India by a margin of 3-0. With this defeat, India’s dream of qualifying for the upcoming U-17 World Cup has ended.
Earlier, in the first match, India suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat against Australia. Despite these setbacks, India had started the match with hopes of qualifying alive, but the beginning of the game was quite positive for the Indian side. For the first 30 minutes, India fought on equal terms and even created a few goal-scoring opportunities.
However, the disappointment began in the 32nd minute when Uzbekistan took the lead (though not with the help of a penalty). By the end of the first half, Uzbekistan held a 1-0 lead. In the 60th minute of the second half, the Uzbekistan side doubled their lead to 2-0.
After this, India had no chance of a comeback. In the 78th minute, Uzbekistan scored their third and final goal, sealing the match. India had to exit the tournament without managing to score a single goal in their two matches.
