Gujarat Titans completely halted Kolkata Knight Riders’ five-match winning streak. With this victory, the chances of the Kolkata Knight Riders reaching the playoffs have diminished, while the chances have increased for Shubman Gill’s team. In the match held today at the Eden Gardens, Knight Riders suffered a defeat against the Titans by a margin of 29 runs.
Batting first, Knight Riders’ star batsman explosive 93, Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s unbeaten 82, and Cameron Green’s unbeaten 52 runs helped Knight Riders post a massive total of 247 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets.
Chasing this target, Titans’ batsmen faced utter disappointment. Despite a brilliant fielding effort, the Titans were restricted to a low score, keeping them trailing behind. The first wicket fell for 24 runs, giving a tough target to chase. Although a partnership of 49 runs for the second wicket between Gill and Patidar gave some hope, the Titans’ hopes of victory faded as Gill got out after scoring 128 runs. Eventually, the Titans were restricted to 218 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Green took 4 wickets for 85 runs. From the Titans’ side, Patidar scored 57 runs and Shai Sudharsan scored 53 runs.
