The South African women’s cricket team has started their campaign against India in the five-match T20 series with a victory. In the match held on Friday night in Durban, South Africa defeated India by 5 wickets.
India’s Innings Batting first, India scored 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten with 47 runs off 33 balls (including one six and five fours).
Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 36 runs.
Opener Shafali Verma added 34 runs. South Africa’s Bowling Ayabonga Khaka was the most successful bowler, taking 3 wickets.
In response, the home team, South Africa, reached the target by scoring 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.1 overs. Anneke Bosch scored 44 runs, while Wolvaardt anchored the innings with 51 runs off 39 balls, including eight boundaries. Shreyanka Patil was the pick of the bowlers for India, claiming 2 wickets.
