ASSAM RGU TO HOST LANDMARK CULTURAL EXHIBITION AND WORKSHOPS IN COLLABORATION WITH INDIAN MUSEUM KOLKATA
The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) is set to host a groundbreaking cultural and academic initiative in partnership with the esteemed Indian Museum, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This landmark event aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of India and provide a unique opportunity for students, scholars, and the public to experience the country’s vibrant legacy.
The highlight of the event is the specially curated exhibition titled “Bharat – Contours of Continuity”, which will feature rare replicas and heritage treasures from the Indian Museum’s collections. The exhibition will remain open for seven days, from May 13 to 21, and is expected to attract a large audience.
This initiative is being organized to celebrate International Museum Day 2026 and commemorate 150 Years of Vande Mataram. Notably, this is the first time the Indian Museum is curating such an exhibition in Northeast India, making it a historic cultural occasion for the region.
The event will be inaugurated on May 13 at the RGU campus and will be graced by the Director of the Indian Museum, Kolkata, among other dignitaries. Additionally, two specialized workshops will be conducted on May 14 and 15 by experts from the Indian Museum and Prof. Susmita Basu Majumdar from the University of Calcutta.
This collaboration is expected to provide a unique platform for cultural exchange and academic enrichment, and RGU is proud to host this landmark event. The exhibition and workshops are open to students, scholars, and the public, and are expected to be a memorable experience for all who attend.
