Tamim Iqbal has started working with a positive attitude immediately after taking over his responsibilities. The primary goal of the committee led by the former Bangladeshi cricketer is to sweeten cricketing relations with India. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has clearly stated their eagerness to visit India. Additionally, India has been invited to Bangladesh for a bilateral series towards the end of this year. According to the previous schedule under the World Test Championship, the Indian team was supposed to visit Bangladesh. In this situation, the Bangladesh Board’s new step clarifies the intent to re-establish friendly ties with the BCCI.
It is noteworthy that Tamim had moved away from the Bangladesh Cricket Board elections. However, the responsibility of the Cricket Board has now been handed over to the country’s former captain. The National Sports Council of Bangladesh has dissolved the current governing committee of the BCB. An 11-member ad-hoc committee has been given the responsibility of managing the board, and Tamim has been appointed as the President of this committee.
On the other hand, Tamim has brought about extensive changes to the country’s cricket. He has significantly increased the match fees for domestic cricketers and has also raised the annual contract salaries.
